PEAKE TO ANNOUNCE CANDIDACY FOR STATE HOUSE
Local restaurantor Allen Peake confirmed today that he will be announcing his candidacy for the Georgia State House of Representatives for District 137 on Thursday, January 5, at 4 pm at Cheddar’s Casual Café, located at 4040 Riverside Drive in Macon. Peake, who is co-owner of 3 Cheddar’s and 12 Captain D ’s, will be running for office for the first time. He will be running as a Republican in the district that includes most of North and West Macon and Bibb County and parts of South Macon and Bibb County.
“For over 20 years, I have been involved in serving customers in the Middle Georgia area at my restaurants. I am excited now about the opportunity to continue to serve the people of Macon and Bibb County as their representative in the Georgia State Legislature. I believe my common sense business experience, as well as my family values, provide me with unique qualifications to fulfill the responsibility of helping to improve the quality of life for the people of my district,” said Peake.
Peake also confirmed that longtime political activist and current board of education member, Gary Bechtel, would be his campaign chairman, and that former City Councilman Jimmy Patton would be his Treasurer. “Allen is the kind of leader we need in the State Legislature. His passion for service and vast business experience will help him make a real impact for Middle Georgia in the State House,” said Bechtel.
